About This Charming Girl
This Charming Girl is primarly run by myself, Jackie from my hometown of Strathaven, Scotland. I'm 23 and as well as working as a Project Administrator I run this business to satisfy my creative urges. I've always loved quirky, unique jewellery and especially vintage pieces and after feeling bored and uninspired by what was on offer on the high street I decided to make my own. Therefore, This Charming Girl opened on the 9th October 2006!
Why "This Charming Girl"?
I chose the name This Charming Girl after The Smiths song This Charming Man, simply because I'm a bit obsessed with them and it just sort of stuck!
I'm inspired by:
Amelie, passers-by, old movies, pop art, leopard print, The Smiths (of course), anything remotely French, fashion, street fashion, disco, kitsch, the fifties, the sixties, the seventies, the eighties.
Jewellery
Most of the jewellery is constructed from vintage components (unless otherwise stated) so please be aware that occasionally some may show signs of ageing or wear. Wherever possible I try to avoid that. Most chains are brand new (unless otherwise stated). Brass items may develop a patina over time; this is normal. Some of the beads, charms and pendants I use come from old warehouses where they have remained unopened in their original packaging for up to fifty years. Therefore each piece has a little bit of history behind it!
All items are limited edition so if you see something you like, snap it up before it goes!
